The South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association has released its highly anticipated all-state teams for the 2024-25 season, and local talent from York and Lancaster counties has earned well-deserved recognition. The list showcases the best high school basketball players across the state, and several athletes from our area have made their mark.
Local Stars Earn All-State Honors:
- Class 5A Boys:
- Mike Jones, Indian Land: Jones’s consistent performance and contributions to his team earned him a spot on the prestigious 5A all-state team.
- Logan Parker, Fort Mill: Parker’s skill and dedication on the court have been recognized, securing his place among the state’s top players.
- Nasir Berry, Fort Mill: Fort Mill Highschool is very well represented with Nasir Berry also being selected to the all state team.
- Class 4A Boys:
- Jordan Watford, Lancaster: Watford’s outstanding season has been rewarded with a spot on the 4A all-state team.
- Trevon Raymon, South Pointe: Raymon’s talent and contributions to South Pointe’s success have earned him a place among the state’s elite.
- Ry’Darius Hill, South Pointe: South Pointe has two players on the all state team, Ry’Darius Hill also was selected.2
- Class 2A Boys:
- Antwon Young, York Prep: Young’s impressive performance has earned him recognition in the 2A classification.
- Class 5A Girls:
- Samara Lucas, Clover: Lucas’s skill and dedication have earned her a spot on the 5A all-state team.
- Chloe Hudson, Rock Hill: Hudson’s contributions to Rock Hill’s team have been recognized with her selection.
- Aubrey Stevenson, Rock Hill: Rock Hill Highschool also has two players selected with Aubrey Stevenson.
- Class 4A Girls:
- Ja’Niya Cunningham, South Pointe: Cunningham’s exceptional season has earned her the prestigious title of 4A Girls Player of the Year, alongside her all-state selection.
- Kaleigh Lucas, South Pointe: Lucas’s contributions to South Pointe’s success have also earned her a place on the all-state team.
Highlights and Recognition:
Ja’Niya Cunningham’s Player of the Year award is a testament to her outstanding talent and leadership. Her performance throughout the season has been a driving force for South Pointe. The multiple selections from Fort Mill, South Pointe, Rock Hill, and other local schools show the level of talent in the York and Lancaster county area.
The all-state teams represent the culmination of a season of hard work and dedication for these athletes. Their achievements bring pride to their schools and communities.
