Lancaster, S.C. — On January 30, 2025, a man sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 300 block of W. Barr Street in Lancaster. The victim was initially treated at MUSC Lancaster before being airlifted to a medical facility in Charlotte for further care.
The Lancaster Police Department’s Special Operations Division promptly initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of four individuals. The suspects and the victim were known to each other, indicating the incident was not random.
The individuals arrested are:

Courtney N. Mackey, 37: Charged with accessory before the fact of a felony.

Derek Jamarion Brown, 19: Charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and attempted murder.

Two Juveniles: Each charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and attempted murder.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek additional information related to the case.
