Skip the CLT Hustle: Ultra-Low Fares to the Midwest Arrive at Concord Regional

For Charlotte-area travelers tired of the long security lines, heavy traffic, and endless concourse walks at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, a much calmer—and cheaper—alternative is expanding its map just up I-85.

Avelo Airlines announced that it is adding two new nonstop routes out of Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, connecting the greater Charlotte region directly to Indianapolis and Cleveland. With introductory one-way fares starting as low as $39, the ultra-low-cost carrier is making midwestern summer travel both highly accessible and budget-friendly.

“Indianapolis and Cleveland – say hello to Avelo!” Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in the official release. “We’re excited to welcome both cities to our growing network with the introduction of affordable, convenient and industry-leading reliability through nonstop service to New Haven and Charlotte/Concord.”

What Local Travelers Need to Know

By operating out of smaller, regional airports like Concord, Avelo aims to offer a smoother, easier travel day compared to navigating major international hubs. Both new routes will take to the skies this coming June, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Whether you are planning a long weekend getaway to catch a race in Indy or visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, the flight schedules are designed with convenience in mind:

  • Indianapolis, Indiana (IND): Nonstop service launches on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Flights will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

  • Cleveland, Ohio (CLE): Nonstop service launches on Friday, June 19, 2026. Flights will operate twice a week on Fridays and Mondays.

Tickets for both routes are already available for booking through the airline’s website. Travelers should note that the $39 introductory fares must be booked by March 31, 2025, and are valid for travel between June 19 and November 16, 2026.
