YORK COUNTY, SC – The York County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) is thrilled to unveil its newest initiative, the Citizen’s Advisory Board (CAB), designed to bolster transparency and strengthen the relationship between deputies and the community. The CAB will play a crucial role in addressing local concerns and fostering effective communication channels.
Selected individuals on the board will actively identify and address community issues impacting law enforcement activities in York County. The CAB will collaborate with YCSO command staff to develop strategies and provide regular updates to Sheriff Kevin Tolson.
“The creation of the Citizen’s Advisory Board is a significant step toward enhancing the partnership between our office and the York County community,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “This initiative aligns with our core values of honesty, accountability, and integrity. We look forward to working collaboratively to address the concerns and priorities of our citizens.”
Expectations and Eligibility Requirements for CAB Members:
1. Attend each scheduled quarterly meeting, lasting one hour.
2. Actively engage with York County community members to understand public safety issues.
3. Collaborate with the YCSO to implement strategies addressing identified issues.
4. Submit at least one agenda item for each quarterly meeting, due a week before the scheduled meeting.
5. Demonstrate respect for all opinions, exercising courtesy and respect when interacting with others.
6. Commit to serving as a CAB member for one year.
