York, SC – In preparation for the arrival of the winter storm, York School District 1 will transition to asynchronous E-Learning on Friday, January 10, 2025, prioritizing the safety of students and staff. Additionally, all athletic events scheduled for Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11, have been canceled.
What to Expect on the Asynchronous E-Learning Day:
- No live instruction: Students will complete assignments independently.
- Assignment access: Learning materials will be available through Canvas or in paper packets provided for younger students.
- Flexibility for families: The asynchronous format allows students to complete their work at a time that best fits their family’s schedule.
- Teacher support: Staff will hold virtual office hours from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM to assist students with locating or completing assignments.
Work Submission and Attendance:
Students will have up to five days from Friday, January 10, 2025, to complete and submit their work. All assignments must be turned in by Friday, January 17, 2025, to be counted as present for the missed school day.
Athletics and Activities:
All athletic events for both Friday and Saturday have been canceled. Information on rescheduled events will be shared as soon as possible.
