For water or sewer lines, the town said to call its 24/7 line at (803) 547-7158. For natural gas issues, the town said anyone who strikes a gas line should leave the area immediately and call the York County Natural Gas Authority at (803) 323-5304 from a safe location, or call 911 if there is an immediate emergency.
For damaged power lines or outages, Duke Energy customers should call 800-228-8485 to report line hazards or 1-800-452-2777 for customer service, the town said. York Electric Cooperative customers can report outages by calling (866) 374-1234, texting OUTAGE to 352667 or using the cooperative’s mobile app.
The town also listed contacts for cable and internet lines. Spectrum’s construction department can be reached at (833) 487-4772, with customer service at (833) 267-6094. Google Fiber’s construction hotline is 1-877-454-6959, with construction concerns directed to option 3.
The town said anyone who encounters a damaged utility line should stay clear of the area, keep others away and not attempt a repair, noting that prompt reporting helps keep everyone safe.
