The walking trail connecting Walter Y. Elisha Park and Harris Street Park will shut down for three months as crews restore the stream.
The walking trail connecting Walter Y. Elisha Park and Harris Street Park will close beginning Nov. 2 as the Town of Fort Mill starts the Dye Branch Stream Restoration project, according to the town.
The trail will remain closed for three months, and closure signs will be posted at each end, in Walter Y. Elisha Park and on the Jackson Street side of Harris Street Park, the town said.
During the project, crews will work to reduce erosion risk to sewer infrastructure along the stream, improve stream function, preserve the aquatic habitat in the area, and remove invasive and non-native plants, according to the town.
