Women’s Soccer Hosts Emory & Henry on Sunday

Rock Hill, S.C. — Winthrop women’s soccer will look to remain in the winning column on Sunday as they face off against Division II Emory & Henry for the first time in program history. The Eagles are looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. EMORY & HENRY
Sunday’s match will be the first time that the Eagles and the Wasps have faced each other in any sport. However, Winthrop faced Emory & Henry’s South Atlantic Conference (SAC) foe Anderson University on August 27, 2013. The Eagles secured a 1-0 win in the match, their lone win against a SAC opponent all-time.

Thomas Hyslip

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
