York School District One Hosts Business Before Hours at Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center

Local business and community leaders toured classrooms and met students during a career and technical education showcase.

York School District One, in partnership with the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce, welcomed local business and community leaders to the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center for a Business Before Hours event highlighting career and technical education and workforce development.

NJROTC cadets greeted guests, who had the opportunity to network, tour classrooms and meet students, according to the district. Attendees saw firsthand how FDJTC programs are preparing students for future careers in York County and beyond, the district said.

Culinary Arts students prepared and served refreshments during the event, according to the district.

The event was meant to strengthen connections between education and the local business community while showcasing skills students are developing through FDJTC programs, according to the district. Partnerships with local businesses and community organizations help create career pathways, work-based learning opportunities and connections for York School District One students as they prepare for life after graduation, the district said.
