The York Comprehensive High School Women’s Ensemble will perform at the State Music Educators Conference in February 2027, the first such invitation in school history.
The York Comprehensive High School Women’s Ensemble has been selected to perform at the State Music Educators Conference in February 2027, according to York School District One.
The selection marks the first time in York Comprehensive High School history that a choir has been invited to perform at the conference, the district said.
The Women’s Ensemble earned the opportunity through a competitive selection process, according to the district. Students learned the news during a surprise announcement from their choral director, which led to cheers and celebration in the choir room, the district said.
The conference will give the ensemble a chance to perform before music educators and fellow musicians from across South Carolina while representing York Comprehensive High School and York School District One, according to the district.
The performance is scheduled for February 2027.
