Linda Woelk Henderson, 101, Lancaster, SC

ANCASTER, S.C. – Linda Woelk Henderson, 101, died July 12, 2026 at home.
She was born Jan. 9, 1925 in Goessel, KS to Abraham A. Woelk and Anna Goertz Woelk. Linda was a member of Unity ARP Church.

Linda was a farmer’s daughter who grew up in Goessel, KS and later, Newport, WA. Later she enrolled in the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA) where she met and married her husband Jack (John Smart Henderson, died Feb. 6, 2021). After graduation they joined Wycliffe Bible Translators, serving with them for 48 years before retirement and 20+ years after that.

Linda is survived by her daughter Juanita Louise Garland and her two sons Gregory A. and Archer Woelk, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is now with her Lord in heaven along with Jack, her parents, 7 siblings and grandson Christopher.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 8 at Unity ARP Church, 3495 Unity Church Road, Lancaster, S.C. The family will be at the church from 10 a.m. to welcome those who are able to join us. The service will also be live streamed at unityarpchurch.org for those who cannot attend.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida.
