The new park in the Bethel-Lake Wylie Preservation Park District offers 2.5 miles of hiking trails and opens Saturday.

York County’s newest park, Woodend Park, opens to the public Saturday, July 18, according to York County. The park is located in the Bethel-Lake Wylie Preservation Park District.
The park features 2.5 miles of hiking trails through wooded forests and open meadows, York County said. A parking lot off Glenn Brandon Road in Lake Wylie holds 40 vehicles and is equipped with a gate that stays open during operating hours and closes automatically at closing time, according to the county.
Woodend Park will maintain seasonal hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from November through February, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in March and April, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from May through August, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in September and October, York County said.
The county described Woodend Park as a leave no trace park and asked visitors to take all belongings and trash with them when they leave.
