Two local students have achieved a significant academic milestone by being elected to The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
The recent inductees are:
-
Alexa Jones of Clover, currently studying at the College of Charleston.
-
Cristina Sestacovschi of Indian Land, currently studying at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Jones and Sestacovschi join an exclusive group of approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni initiated into the society each year. Membership is highly competitive and extended by invitation only, requiring both nomination and approval by a local chapter. Eligibility is strictly limited to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students, and the top 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction may also qualify.
