SWAT Team Apprehends Wanted Suspect at Fort Mill Apartment

A police operation ended peacefully Wednesday evening after the York County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team successfully took a wanted suspect into custody at a Fort Mill apartment complex as reported by WCNC.

The standoff began around 7 p.m. at a residence on Tom Hall Street. Deputies arrived at the location to serve a warrant for an individual wanted in connection with a violent encounter earlier this month. According to investigators, the suspect was wanted for pointing a firearm at a Rock Hill Police officer during a prior incident.

The identity of the suspect has not yet been released pending formal processing and the filing of additional charges. Following the arrest, the individual was transported to the York County Detention Center.

Local authorities noted that the coordination between the Rock Hill Police Department and the York County Sheriff’s Office was instrumental in tracking the suspect to the Fort Mill location. Further details regarding the initial encounter with the Rock Hill officer are expected to be released as the case moves toward a bond hearing.
