CLINTON, SC – While Presbyterian College is widely known for its “Blue Hose” spirit and historic campus, the true heart of the institution was on display this week as the college celebrated the individual academic triumphs of its students.
From the intense focus required to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA to the consistent discipline needed for the Dean’s List, students from across the Upstate and Piedmont regions have proven their mettle in the classroom.
The Perfect Four: President’s List Honors
For four local students, the Fall 2025 semester was a masterclass in academic precision. Earning a 4.0 GPA, these scholars represent the pinnacle of PC’s rigorous curriculum:
-
Annabeth Adams (Lancaster)
-
Hannah Austin (Rock Hill) – Notably, Austin also serves as a key player for the Blue Hose women’s soccer team, demonstrating the high-level “student” in student-athlete.
-
Shelley Ricks (York)
-
Avery West (Fort Mill) – A standout who also contributes her talents to the women’s lacrosse program.
Rising to the Top: The Dean’s List
Achieving the Dean’s List is a mark of sustained excellence, requiring a high-caliber GPA while navigating a full course load. This semester’s list features a strong contingent of local leaders:
-
Fort Mill Standouts: Lucas Barz, Jacob Deller, Braden Gritz, Ellery Lominick, and Ava Swenson.
-
Rock Hill’s Brightest: Rebekah Archer, Margaret Leonard, Kaitlin Marquis, Ethan McNutt, Eli Robinson, Walker Smith, and Katie Stevenson.
-
Chester & Surrounding Areas: Nathan Johnson and Traivon Worthy (Chester), Josue Navarro Melgar (Lancaster), and Anastasia McAteer (McConnells).
More Than Just a Grade
For these students, success isn’t just about the numbers on a transcript. At PC, academic achievement is deeply intertwined with the college’s service-driven mission. These students are being trained not just to excel in their careers, but to act as “powerful forces for positive community and world change.”
Whether they are future pharmacists, physician assistants, or community leaders, these honorees are currently using the Clinton campus as a “proving ground” to practice the art and science of changing lives.
