Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary: Soprano Corey Lovelace to Perform at Lancaster Cultural Arts Center

LANCASTER, S.C. — The Lancaster Cultural Arts Center (CAC) continues its 2026 season with a patriotic and stirring tribute to the nation’s history. On Sunday, February 8, 2026, acclaimed soprano Corey Lovelace will present “In Celebration of America’s 250 Years,” a concert honoring the Semiquincentennial of American independence.

The performance is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the historic Cultural Arts Center, located at 307 West Gay Street.

A Vibrant Musical Tribute

As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Lovelace has curated a program designed to showcase the rich tapestry of American classical music. The concert promises a “vibrant celebration” of the nation’s musical heritage, with a special emphasis on works by American women composers.

Lovelace, a lyric soprano known for her “sultry fire” and “arrogant majesty” on the opera stage, is a favorite among Lancaster audiences. This marks her return to the CAC, a venue she has praised for its unique atmosphere.

“I love the acoustics. It feels very intimate and grand all at the same time,” Lovelace said of the venue in a previous interview. The Center is housed in the Old Presbyterian Church, an 1862 structure known for its resonant wooden flooring and high ceilings, making it an ideal setting for unamplified vocal performance.
