Mrs. Vivian Faye Baker Broome, 83, widow of Sidney Broome, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 4, 1942, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James and Leila Adams Baker.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Broome will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home- Chapel with the Rev. Brad Kirkley officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Broome is survived by a son, Sidney Allen Broome, Jr.; two daughters, Lisa (Tommy) Coker and Teresa Broome Reed; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Caskey, Teddy Allen Pardue, Melissa Lynn Coker, Brandon Thomas Coker, Erica Reed Adams, Matthew Lee Broome, Justin Allen Broome, Austin Lynn Broome, Katelyn Brook Broome, Curtis Brody Reed, Michael Timothy Broome and Tristan Christopher Broome; and 17 great grandchildren, Henry Caskey, Jaxon Caskey, Kaelyn Faile, Connor Adams, Alanna Adams, Lucas Lee Broome, Abby Gail Broome, Chloe Broome, Bridgett Broome, Remington Broome, Alora Broome, Bristol Coker, Landyn Coker, Cooper Gardner, Derek Reed, Wyatt Reed and Charlotte Reed. She was preceded in death by a son, Marion Timothy Bayne, two brothers, Vernon Ray Baker and James Alvin Baker and two sisters, Dorothy Baker Wallace and Barbara Baker Pruitt.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
