Northwestern Standout Turbo Richard to Transfer from Boston College

ROCK HILL, S.C. – A familiar face from Rock Hill football is looking for a new collegiate home. Turbo Richard, the former star running back for Northwestern High School, declared his intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday morning.

Richard departs Boston College after a productive two-year stint where he became a focal point of the Eagles’ offense.

Productive Stint in the ACC

Despite Boston College struggling to a 2-10 record in the 2025 season, Richard was a consistent bright spot. He carried the offense as the team’s leading rusher, finishing the year with 749 yards and nine touchdowns on 145 carries.

His time at Boston College concludes with impressive career totals. Across 19 game appearances, Richard surpassed the century mark, logging 1,027 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. He proved to be a dual-threat out of the backfield as well, hauling in 32 passes for another 275 yards and two scores.

“The Journey Continues”

Richard took to social media to share the news, thanking the Boston College community before turning the page to his next chapter.

“Forever grateful for the opportunity to wear the maroon and gold,” Richard stated. “Thank you to my teammates for the battles, the brotherhood, and the memories. Thank you to the coaches and staff for giving me the opportunity to play this game I love. And thank you to the fans for your support every step of the way.”

He continued, “After prayer and reflection, I’ve decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal to continue pursuing my development and goals. This chapter will always be a part of me. The journey continues.”

A Rock Hill Resume

Before making his mark in the ACC, Richard was a decorated athlete at Northwestern High School. During his tenure with the Trojans, Richard earned All-State and All-Region accolades.

Now in the portal, Richard will look to bring that production to a new program for the upcoming season.
