YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A Tennessee man is facing a felony charge following a deadly collision earlier this month near Lake Wylie that claimed the life of a Clover resident.
Joseph Lee Boles, 51, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was arrested on Thursday by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He has been charged with reckless homicide in connection with the December 16 crash.
The York County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 61-year-old Charles Gibson of Clover.
Under South Carolina law, reckless homicide is a felony offense. If convicted, Boles faces a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
As of Friday, Boles remained incarcerated at the York County Detention Center. His bond has been set at $300,000.
