Andrew Jackson Middle School Honoring Veterans

Andrew Jackson Middle School will host its annual Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 7, 2025 at 10:00 am in the Andrew Jackson Visual and Performing Arts Center. All members of the community, especially Veterans are invited to attend this event. The ELA classes, Science and Social Studies classes along with the Fine Arts Department will present tributes to our Veterans here in Lancaster County. A luncheon will be held for Veterans after the ceremony.

Andrew Jackson Middle School is pleased to welcome Mr. Kevin Cauthen and all Veterans to the 2025 Veterans Day Program. Mr. Cauthen grew up in Lancaster County and served in the United States Navy. Two of his brothers, Eric and Gary also served with distinction in the Air Force and Navy respectively. After active duty service, Mr. Cauthen continued serving in the Naval Reserve. Post military service, Mr. Cauthen taught 6th-9th grade Language Arts and served as assistant principal at Andrew Jackson High School. He later served as an assistant principal at Lancaster High School for the Career Center. AJMS welcomes and thanks Mr. Cauthen, along with all our veterans for their service to this nation!

Andrew Jackson Middle School is a FOCUS school for the Arts. AJMS is a Certified Arts in the Basic Curriculum School and a Distinguished Arts Program from the South Carolina Arts Commission. The ABC Institute is funded in part by the South Carolina Art Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
