Bruce Fonte Sweeps Field to Win Tega Cay MGA Gross Match Play Championship

Tega Cay, S.C. — Consistency and composure carried the day for Bruce Fonte, who capped an undefeated run to claim the Tega Cay Men’s Golf Association Gross Match Play Championship, defeating Matt Bowman in the final.

Fonte navigated the bracket flawlessly, winning all five of his matches to lift the trophy. Bowman, who fought his way through the consolation bracket to earn a spot in the championship match, provided a gritty final test before Fonte closed out the title.

The Gross Match Play drew a competitive field of 16 MGA members, showcasing steady play, tight finishes, and plenty of clutch up-and-downs over several weeks of head-to-head golf.
