The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is proud to spotlight two very special companions looking for their forever homes: Sophia the First and Wild Cherry.
Cat of the Week: Sophia the First
From inflamed and suffering to vibrant and affectionate, Sophia the First is living proof of what love and care can do in just a matter of weeks. When this orange-and-white beauty first arrived at HSYC as a stray, she was battling a severe flea allergy that left her in visible pain. Today, after eight weeks at the rescue, her transformation is nothing short of inspiring.
Sophia is estimated to be just over three years old. She’s sweet, loving, and has a charming way of engaging in “conversations” with those who spend time with her. With her gentle spirit and affectionate nature, she’s ready to be the perfect companion for an individual, couple, or family.
She is spayed, vaccinated, tested, and microchipped—ready to go home today. If Sophia the First captures your heart, call HSYC at 803-802-0902 and ask about meeting this resilient feline.
Dog of the Week: Wild Cherry
True to his name, Wild Cherry is a spirited husky full of personality and charm. At about three years old and weighing 55–60 pounds, this strikingly handsome boy embodies everything husky lovers adore—drama, energy, smarts, and plenty of talking!
Wild Cherry loves to play with squeaky toys, enjoys the company of other dogs, and has already impressed trainers at Zoom Room with his quick learning and eager attitude. His goofy antics—like pressing his face against his kennel glass for dramatic effect—are sure to bring plenty of laughter to his future family.
He is well-mannered, affectionate, and thrives on adventure. HSYC recommends an adopter with husky experience to provide him the active, engaging home he deserves. If you’re ready for smiles, snuggles, and husky energy, call 803-802-0902 to schedule an appointment to meet Wild Cherry.
