SC Chamber Reports Over $807 Million Impact for Businesses from 2025 Legislative Session

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber) has released its annual “Results for Business” report, detailing its advocacy successes during the recently concluded 2025 state legislative session. This report serves as a follow-up to the “2025 Competitiveness Agenda” issued in January, which outlined seven key areas for the General Assembly to address.

The 2025 “Results for Business” report indicates that the SC Chamber’s advocacy efforts generated an impact exceeding $807 million for South Carolina’s business community. This translates to an approximate savings of $4,275 per employer across the state, with the Chamber emphasizing that every dollar saved by businesses can be reinvested into the state’s economy.

The SC Chamber credits its progress to collaborative work with the General Assembly, highlighting several key achievements. These include relief from what the Chamber describes as a flawed civil justice system, which previously incurred significant costs for businesses and families. The report also points to substantial tax cuts, increased confidence in the future stability of the state’s energy grid, and the establishment of technical college scholarships aimed at critical job sectors. These policy changes are anticipated to further enhance South Carolina’s business environment.
