Highway Patrol Seeks Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run on SC-55 in York County

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that occurred Sunday morning in western York County.

According to a report by Queen City News, the crash took place at approximately 7:09 a.m. on SC Highway 55 East near Paraham Road. A pedestrian, who was walking westbound while pushing a bicycle, was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased individual. No description of the suspect or vehicle has been made available as of Monday.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation and urges anyone with information related to the incident to contact them at (843) 661-4705.
