The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services Welcomes New Director

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS) welcomes Jake Gadsden, Jr., confirmed by the South Carolina Senate February 27th in a unanimous vote to become the next Director of SCDPPPS.

Gadsden previously served as the Deputy Director for Programs, Reentry, and Rehabilitative Services for the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) and has over 30 years of experience overseeing both state and county correctional facilities.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster stated, “Jake Gadsden has spent his career strengthening criminal justice systems, and his leadership at the Department of Corrections has helped countless individuals rebuild their lives.”

“I am confident in the talent and proficiency of the individuals who make up this team and I humbly accept this honor to begin my new role at PPP. I consider it a privilege to be part of this dedicated team of professionals,” said Jake Gadsden, Jr.

Gadsden, 65, is a resident of Chapin, S.C. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Carolina and completed the Harvard University School of Government Tier Management Training program.
