New Traffic Pattern Announced for I-77 and S.C. 160 Interchange Construction

Drivers in the Fort Mill area should prepare for a new traffic pattern this week as construction continues at the I-77 and S.C. 160 interchange. The contractor, United Blythe Joint Venture (UBJV), is set to implement the change on the evening of Thursday, February 20, as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement project.

The updated traffic flow will shift vehicles to the south side of S.C. 160 between Kingsley Park Drive and Assembly Drive. This adjustment is necessary to facilitate the construction of a wider bridge across I-77, a key component of the interchange upgrade.

Motorists should anticipate lane closures and short traffic stops as the work progresses. Officials urge drivers to remain alert, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when navigating through the area.

The construction is part of a broader effort to enhance traffic efficiency and safety at the busy interchange. Further updates on lane shifts and closures will be provided as the project advances.
