LANCASTER, SC — The Lancaster County Council will convene for its annual organizational meeting on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the County Council Chambers, located at the County Administration Building at 101 North Main Street, Lancaster, SC.
The meeting will be called to order by County Administrator Dennis E. Marstall, who will also lead the welcome, recognition, Pledge of Allegiance, and invocation. The agenda includes key organizational activities, including the administration of oaths of office to newly elected and re-elected councilmembers and the election of council officers.
Key Agenda Items:
- Oaths of Office
Clerk of Court Mike Watkins will administer oaths of office to:- Stuart Graham (District 1)
- Billy Mosteller (District 3)
- Steve Harper (District 5)
- Brian Carnes (District 7)
- Election of Officers
County Attorney Ginny Merck-Dupont will oversee the election of:- County Council Chair
- County Council Vice-Chair
- County Council Secretary
The meeting will also include opportunities for public participation. Citizens are encouraged to submit comments ahead of the meeting, either via mail, email, or an online submission form available on the Lancaster County website. Comments must be received by 4:00 PM on the day of the meeting.
Following the formal proceedings, a reception for newly elected and re-elected councilmembers will take place in the second-floor lobby outside the chambers.
