The University Honors Program is the oldest, most prestigious pathway within the Honors College, designed for highly motivated students who want to elevate their college experience.
As a University Honors student, they will benefit from all the resources and opportunities the Honors College has to offer, includes a dedicated four-year Honors adviser, unique classes, specialized programs, summer funding opportunities and participation in a yearlong service-learning project called Honors Engaged.
The Honors College at the College of Charleston is regularly ranked among the top Honors programs in the nation. The Honors College recently welcomed its largest ever first-year class, part of an initiative to provide a greater number of students with access to excellence.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
