Fury 325 Remains Closed as Carowinds Repairs Foundation Issue

Carowinds’ signature roller coaster, Fury 325, remains closed after a routine maintenance inspection identified a foundation issue earlier this month.

The amusement park said the coaster has been out of operation since July 7 while crews assess and repair the affected area. Temporary walls have been installed around part of the ride during the work.

Since opening in 2015, Fury 325 has become one of Carowinds’ most popular attractions. The coaster is recognized as the world’s tallest and fastest traditional chain-lift giga coaster.

The closure comes three years after Fury 325 was temporarily shut down when a park guest spotted a crack in one of the ride’s steel support columns. The support was replaced before the coaster returned to service.

Carowinds has not announced a timetable for reopening Fury 325 but has indicated it is working to complete repairs and ensure the coaster meets all safety requirements before welcoming riders back.

Until then, the park continues operating its other attractions while one of its most recognizable rides remains out of service.
