As part of our continuing effort to bring local news that’s impactful to our readers, we’ve proactively reached out to the six candidates running for the Fort Mill School Board and offered then a chance to submit an article for our readers. As we receive responses, we will share them here, unedited.
Below, we’ll introduce you to Scott Frattaroli. For a list of all candidates, please refer to the original article in our sister paper: https://tegacaysun.com/2023/09/08/candidates-for-tega-cay-city-council/
The Fort Mill School District is the heartbeat of our community. Home values continue to rise, business in the area is booming, and growth is a constant factor in our everyday lives. If you ask most people what brought them to the area, a majority will say “THE SCHOOLS”.
We have a proud tradition in the Fort Mill/Tega Cay area of boasting not only the best school district in the state of South Carolina, but also one of the best (top 1.4%) in the country. Our community expects excellence in our schools, and to maintain this level of achievement we need consistency, experience, and knowledge from Board Leadership. As a candidate seeking a third term as a Fort Mill School District Board Trustee, I bring these necessary skillsets to the position.
I am a parent of two sons who attended Fort Mill School District from pre-K – 12th Grade, and I understand how to support both our students and families in the district.
I am an educator who served the Fort Mill School District for 18 years as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and Principal. I am the most experienced Fort Mill educator in this race, and I have worked with thousands of families to support our students and staff in our schools.
I am an experienced Board leader who has served the last eight years as a School Trustee and has Board experience serving as an Elder at church, serving on the Board of the York County Boys and Girls Club, serving on two non-profit Boards for Juvenile diabetes, and as an HOA representative in my community. I understand laws, policies, and procedures, as well as how to work as part of a team to navigate difficult decision-making.
I am a learner who understands one of the most important aspects of working on a Board is learning about people and their concerns. With advanced degrees in Educational Leadership and certifications in Education and Administration, learning is a key component to this role. I believe in learning about our students, the needs of our staff, and how serving ALL of our school community – not just segments of the community that might align to my own personal beliefs and interests – is important for the overall success of our district.
I am an advocate for our students, our staff members, and our community who will stand up for public education in Fort Mill. With 27 years of experience in our district, servant leadership and dedication to our students, staff, and schools has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
If you believe our district needs and deserves consistency, experience, and knowledge to continue down the path of state and national excellence, please vote Scott Frattaroli for Fort Mill School Board on November 5th.
