SCDOT is closing the two left lanes of I-77 South between Celanese Road and Cherry Road for bridge repairs through Sept. 23.
Drivers in the Fort Mill area should expect delays on I-77 South through Wednesday, Sept. 23, as the South Carolina Department of Transportation performs bridge repairs between mile markers 83 and 81.5, the stretch between Celanese Road and Cherry Road, according to the Town of Fort Mill.
The two left lanes of I-77 South will be closed during the work, and delays are expected on the highway as well as on entrance and exit ramps, the town said. Drivers should also expect increased traffic on nearby connector roads as motorists seek alternate routes, according to the town.
The Town of Fort Mill is advising drivers to allow additional travel time, consider alternate routes when possible, and use caution in work zones and on local roads.
