Timothy K. Roy, 70, York, SC

Timothy K. Roy of York, SC passed away after a brief illness on April 15, 2026, during which time he was supported by family. He was born July 9, 1955 in Escondido, CA, the son of Ed and Nora Roy.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anne Waldron and his nephew Timmy Bennett.

He is survived by four siblings: Jean Roy, Nora Roy, Pat Roy and Mike Roy Sr. Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephews whom he loved like they were his own children: Brian Waldron, Todd Waldron, Scott and Megan Waldron; Katie Roy and Brian Horton, Michael and Lisa Roy, and Nora Roy; Sam and Tracey Bennett, Eddie and Melissa Bennett, and Debbie Bennett. Tim also had 15 great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.

Tim traveled world-wide as a project manager for industrial construction, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. During that time, he had the opportunity to live in Puerto Rico, where he developed a love for the Caribbean islands.

Tim loved his family, the water, and fishing. His family treasures many memories, including the time all three of his sisters traveled to his place in St John, USVI, for a “trip of a lifetime” and the last big fishing trip to Lake Moultrie: both are still celebrated for the love and laughter and fellowship.

Uncle Tim loved his nieces and nephews and their families. There were great times at the Farm in York, riding dirt bikes and atvs; and exploring the woods and creeks. There were birthday parties at the lake, boating, fishing and plenty of time spent sitting around talking. The great-nieces and great-nephews grew up hearing tales of fishing trips and blue water.

A gathering to celebrate Tim’s life will be announced at a later date.
