He proudly served in the United States Army until June of 1971. Following his military service, Paul remained driven and career-focused, earning his Master of Science Degree from Southern Connecticut State University in January of 1993, an accomplishment that reflected his determination and commitment to bettering himself.

He began his professional career at Yale University with report writing and then served as a security officer. His passion for service led him to the East Haven Police Department, where he worked as a canine officer alongside his beloved canine partner, “Baron” and later as a detective. Continuing his distinguished career in law enforcement, he accepted a position with the Southern Connecticut State University Police Department, where he served as a lieutenant for 12 years until his retirement.

Above all, Paul was a loving father to his three children. He showed his love through his hard work, determination, and commitment to building a life for his family.

He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures-fishing, spending time with friends and family whenever he could, and always striving for the best life had to offer. He was a devoted Red Sox fan and loved baseball. He took great pride in his Harley, enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards.

Paul will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor, his strong work ethic and his kindhearted soul. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance.

Family will receive friends on Thursday May 28, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
