Tragedy struck Tuesday night when a bicyclist was killed in a collision on Hands Mill Highway, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and WCNC.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Thomas Wayne Linder, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. near Ross Brook Trace when a Jeep Cherokee struck Linder from behind as he was riding his bicycle. The impact caused Linder to be thrown off his bike and onto the roadway.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
