Lancaster Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Rock Hill House Party Shooting

Detectives with the York County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 20-year-old Lancaster man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred during a weekend gathering.

On the night of Saturday, January 17, 2026, deputies were dispatched to a residence at 361 Old Friendship Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered a victim lying in the yard who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Investigation and Arrest

In the hours following the shooting, detectives conducted extensive interviews with several individuals who had been attending the party. Utilizing witness statements and physical evidence recovered during the initial investigation, authorities identified Ryan Chase Price, 20, of Lancaster, as the suspect.

Price was taken into custody and is facing multiple serious charges, according to the Sheriff’s Office:

  • Murder

  • Possession of a weapon during a violent crime

  • Minor in possession of alcohol

Current Status

Price is currently being held at the York County Detention Center. During an initial hearing, bond was denied for the murder charge, which is standard procedure in the state for such offenses.

While an arrest has been made, the York County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Information regarding the identity of the victim or a possible motive for the shooting has not yet been released.
