Danny Baker Obituary
Danny Wesley Baker, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 22, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Patricia LaDonna “Trish” Baker; his children, Travis Ashley Baker, Kristin Bree Willis and Katelan Blair Baker; his eleven grandchildren; and his siblings, Homer Thirl Baker Jr. and Marsha Jean Baker.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Homer Thirl Baker and Betty Jean Baker, Danny graduated from Olympic High School, studied at East Carolina University, and later graduated from Gardner-Webb University. He and Trish made York, South Carolina, their home. Danny dedicated nearly twenty years to serving the community through his work with the United States Postal Service.
Danny had a rare ability to make everyone feel like family, welcoming the friends of his children and grandchildren as his own. Known for his strong work ethic, infectious humor, and can-do attitude, he passed those values on to his children with pride. An avid rugby player with the Charlotte Old Boys, Danny brought the same enthusiasm and team spirit to the field that he brought to life.
Those who knew Danny knew laughter. He was the life of every gathering, always ready with a joke or quick wit, and his greatest joy came from bringing happiness to others. His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and community will be deeply missed.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Dannys name.
A service celebrating Danny’s life will be announced at a later date.
