Suspect Charged After Deadly Attempted Robbery in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Rock Hill authorities have charged a suspect in connection with a violent attempted robbery late last month that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old accomplice.

Jaquavious Marcel White was arrested on Wednesday, December 11, and charged with attempted armed robbery and criminal conspiracy.

The charges stem from a deadly shooting incident that occurred on November 28 on Eden Terrace. According to the Rock Hill Police Department, the investigation revealed that White and 18-year-old Tyjah Brevard confronted two men, holding them at gunpoint with the intention of robbing them.

Police state that during the confrontation, the situation turned when one of the intended victims produced a firearm and shot both suspects.

Brevard was found dead at the scene. White was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds; he survived his injuries and has now been taken into custody.

Authorities have not announced any charges against the shooter, indicating the incident appears to be a case of self-defense.
