Lancaster County School District is excited to announce that Kelli Overcash, Principal of Kershaw Elementary School has been named Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.
Kelli has been principal of Kershaw Elementary School since 2017 and in education since 2003. During her tenure with Lancaster County School District, she has served in the capacity of teacher, career development facilitator, and principal. In addition, she has worked in Newberry County at Newberry Middle School for six years as both assistant principal and principal and in Greenville County at Hillcrest Middle School for three years as principal.

Her visionary leadership at Kershaw Elementary has transformed the school into a model of excellence as reflected in its rise from an Average to a sustained Excellent report card rating during her tenure and the school’s continued academic growth. Ms. Overcash’s commitment to data-driven instruction, her deep relationships with students, staff, and the Kershaw community, and her unwavering belief in every child’s potential make her truly deserving of this statewide recognition. She embodies servant leadership, innovation, and a relentless focus on student success, and we are grateful to have her representing Lancaster County Schools,” Dr. Raashad Fitzpatrick, Superintendent.
Principal, Kelli Overcash shared, “I am very excited that Kershaw Elementary staff and students are getting recognition for their growth.”

Dr. Quincie Moore, Executive Director of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators announced the honor. In September, Mrs. Overcash was nominated by Dr. Carl Carpenter, Chief Human Resources Officer and Dr. Norris Williams, Deputy Superintendent. Mrs. Overcash was one of thirty-two nominations.
