Lancaster County, SC – In a joint venture between Lancaster County Parks and Recreation and the City of Lancaster will be hosting Lancaster Lights and Holiday Sights.
The events will be held over three weekends between November and December. The event is the first of its kind and most of it is free to the public.
The festivities start on Saturday, Nov. 29 with the Christmas Market at Springdale Recreation Center located at 260 South Plantation Road in Lancaster, SC from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Christmas Market will have craft vendors, food trucks, and a kid zone, along with photos of Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more.
Also, that weekend, Kings Mobile Media is hosting the Red Rose Watch Party for the annual South Carolina-Clemson football game. The party will take place all day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 305 Main Street. There will be a raffle, kid’s zone, food trucks and more. Then at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Gay and Main Streets, the annual Christmas tree lighting will be held, featuring a 40-foot Christmas tree. The jolly, ole man himself, Santa, is scheduled to make an appearance, so while you are waiting for him, you can listen to the festive tunes of the Genesis Choir with special solo by Julian Severance.
Starting December 4th Lancaster Lights and Holiday Sights will open Lancaster’s first ever Ice-Skating Rink in downtown Lancaster. It will be located at 305 S. Main Street in Lancaster, South Carolina. The Ice-Skating Rink will be open every day through the 14th. Check our social media and website for hours of operation and pricing.
The next weekend on Saturday, Dec. 6, the festivities continue with Christmas in the City going from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature trolley rides, festive bazaar, photos with Santa, tasty treats, and unique vendors. The Reindeer 5K run will also be held, with the day’s events culminating in the Christmas parade scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
The final weekend of events will be Dec. 12 and 13. Starting at 6 p.m. and going to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, a two-day bash will be held at Springdale Recreation Center. On Dec. 12 at Springdale, there will be homemade s’mores, hot cocoa, a kid zone with limited rides available, individual and groups of carolers, and of course, pictures with Santa.
The final day of events goes from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Springdale Recreation Center. There will be Christmas movies, festive vendors, a kid’s zone, photos with Santa, food trucks and a real skating rink.
