York, SC – Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw was appointed by the York School District One Board of Trustees and officially sworn in by Judge Daniel Hall during the October 14, 2025, school board meeting.
The board interviewed six candidates for the Seat 3 vacancy, which was created when former board member Chris Revels passed away on May 28, 2025. The board unanimously voted to appoint Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw to Seat 3 for the duration of the current term, which expires November 2028.
Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw is a graduate of York Comprehensive High School. She is currently a Paralegal and Office Manager for the York County Attorney’s Office, where she has worked for 14 years. She was a board member for the York School District One Education Foundation, York Intermediate School Improvement Council parent member, and is a Mt. Vernon Church Council member, where she serves as a member of the youth leadership team and the mission and outreach committee. Mrs. Shillinglaw is a resident of Hickory Grove.
“Julie has been an integral part of our community and York School District One; serving on the board for the York School District One Education Foundation as well as serving as Chair of the Student Improvement Council at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. We welcome Julie to the Board of Trustees and feel that she will be a great addition,” said Board of Trustees Chairperson Scott Childers of the appointment.
