Move will consolidate Hoover, Oreck, and Dirt Devil operations and expand innovation hub in Upstate South Carolina
ANDERSON, S.C. — Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. (TTI), the global manufacturer behind well-known floor care brands such as Hoover, Oreck, and Dirt Devil, announced plans to relocate its floor care business headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Anderson County, South Carolina.
The relocation will consolidate TTI Floorcare North America’s leadership, engineering, and operational teams at its existing facility on 100 Innovation Way in Anderson, where the company already operates a large distribution, warehouse, and innovation complex.
The move, announced October 8, supports TTI’s long-term goal to “accelerate disruptive innovation and leverage synergies between its consumer businesses,” according to company leadership. The transition is expected to be completed by June 1, 2026, with no disruption to customers or partners.
Major Investment in South Carolina
TTI has made significant investments in the Palmetto State in recent years, totaling more than $500 million since 2019. The company currently employs over 1,500 team members at its Anderson facilities, which feature 500,000 square feet of office, engineering, and testing space and 3 million square feet of distribution and warehouse operations.
In 2020, TTI announced a $100 million expansion of the Anderson facility, creating 525 additional jobs. The latest headquarters relocation builds on that momentum, reinforcing Anderson County’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation.
A Strategic Move for Growth and Synergy
TTI CEO Steven Richman said the relocation marks a “significant milestone” for the company, enabling it to expand its innovation capabilities and enhance collaboration across its brands.
The move will allow closer integration of TTI’s engineering and manufacturing teams already based in South Carolina, further supporting the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions in home and commercial floor care.
A Global Company with Deep U.S. Roots
Founded and headquartered in Hong Kong, TTI is one of the world’s leading technology companies in power tools, outdoor power equipment, floor care appliances, and electronic measurement products. Its well-known subsidiaries include Hoover, Oreck, Dirt Devil, Hoover Commercial, and Oreck Commercial.
The company originally established TTI Floorcare North America by combining Hoover with its existing Dirt Devil and Royal operations in Charlotte. Relocating those functions to Anderson positions South Carolina as a central hub for TTI’s floor care innovation and growth in North America.
Economic Development Boost for Anderson County
The announcement, shared by Anderson County Economic Development on its LinkedIn page, was welcomed as another sign of confidence in the Upstate’s business climate. Anderson County officials praised the company’s continued investment and commitment to job creation in the region.
With the headquarters move, TTI strengthens its role as one of Anderson County’s largest and most influential employers—cementing the area’s status as a cornerstone of South Carolina’s advanced manufacturing economy.
