USDGC and Championship Festival Return to Rock Hill for 27th Year

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) and Championship Week Festival return to Rock Hill for the 27th consecutive year, bringing four days of competition and community celebration to the Winthrop Arena Course from October 9–12.

Hosted at the Winthrop Coliseum and surrounding Winthrop Lake area, the USDGC has become a nationally recognized event that merges elite-level disc golf with a family-friendly festival atmosphere. Organizers expect thousands of fans, including international visitors, to attend.

“This tournament has really put Rock Hill, York County, and Winthrop on the map,” said Winthrop University Athletics Director Chuck Rey. “It’s now a global destination for disc golf enthusiasts.”

This year’s Championship Week will feature daily themes and expanded offerings:

  • Thursday, Oct. 9 – Fan Appreciation Day: Discounted passes and the return of the Legends Skins Match.
  • Friday, Oct. 10 – Throw Pink Women’s Day: Free admission for women and exclusive women-focused events.
  • Saturday, Oct. 11 – Family Adventure Day: Enhanced Kids Zone and family activities throughout the venue.
  • Sunday, Oct. 12 – Championship Sunday: Final competition rounds, awards ceremony, and the popular Distance Showcase.

Beyond the course, visitors can enjoy nightly concerts at 6 p.m., live art installations, and over 40 vendors and food trucks offering a range of cuisine from Carolina barbecue to international street food.
