A Sharon man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting at a local Dollar General store on Saturday, July 12 per Queen City News. York County coroners confirmed the death of 69-year-old Joseph Lewis.
According to authorities, Lewis was shot at the Dollar General located in Sharon. He was transported to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Details surrounding the incident remain limited at this time. Law enforcement officials have not yet released any information regarding potential suspects or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
An autopsy and toxicology tests are scheduled to be completed later this week to assist in the investigation. The York County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the death.
