FORT MILL, SC — At the special called school board meeting held on June 25, the Board voted unanimously (7–0) to approve the following appointments to Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director roles.
Dr. Latoya Dixon will join the Fort Mill School District as the next Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Administration. She will replace Mr. Grey Young, who was previously announced as the next District Superintendent. Dr. Dixon brings 26 years of experience in education and currently serves as Assistant Superintendent and Public Information Officer in York School District 1. She has previously worked in North and South Carolina as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, district administrator, and as a director for the South Carolina Department of Education. Dr. Dixon holds a Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University, a Master’s of Education, an Education Specialist degree, and a Doctorate from the University of South Carolina.
Mr. Peter Olinger will transition to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Educator Effectiveness, succeeding Liza Stouffer, who is retiring from the district. Mr. Olinger has 20 years of experience in education and currently serves as the Executive Director of Elementary Education for the Fort Mill School District. During his career, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Mr. Olinger holds a Bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.
Mrs. Jocelyn Young will transition into the Executive Director of Elementary Education role, replacing Mr. Olinger. Mrs. Young has 25 years of experience in education, all within the Fort Mill School District, and currently serves as the Executive Director of Leadership Development. She has previously worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Mrs. Young holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Education from Winthrop University, as well as a Master’s in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
Mrs. Cori Hustedt will transition into the Executive Director of Student Services role. Mrs. Hustedt has 13 years of experience in education and currently serves as the Director of Student Services for the Fort Mill School District. She has previously served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Mrs. Hustedt holds a Bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Queens University of Charlotte.
These individuals will begin their new roles with the district on July 1, 2025.
