The York County Sheriff’s Office has announced a significant increase in the starting salary for its non-certified enforcement deputies. This move aims to attract more individuals interested in a career in law enforcement and serving the community.
Non-certified deputies will now begin with a base salary of $53,578. Upon successfully completing the rigorous training at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and their subsequent Field Training, these deputies will receive an immediate 5% pay raise, increasing their salary to $59,069.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that this salary adjustment reflects a strong commitment to recruiting individuals who possess a genuine desire to serve the community. This increase is part of an ongoing effort to draw dedicated professionals to the force.
