LANCASTER, S.C. — Oldcastle APG, a leading manufacturer of building materials and a subsidiary of CRH, announced plans to expand its operations into Lancaster County with a new $20 million facility. The project will create 30 new jobs and marks a significant investment in South Carolina’s manufacturing sector.
The new plant, located at 1683 Rock Hill Highway in Lancaster, is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of 2026. It will produce residential and commercial concrete building materials and hardscape products, serving a growing demand across the southeastern United States.
With more than 230 facilities across North America—including nine in South Carolina—Oldcastle APG’s expansion into Lancaster County reinforces its commitment to enhancing its regional presence and delivering premium outdoor living solutions.
“Oldcastle APG is committed to offering best-in-class outdoor living solutions to customers in South Carolina and across North America,” said Tim Ortman, President of Oldcastle APG. “The addition of the masonry facility in Lancaster County to our footprint further expands our ability to deliver in high-demand markets, bringing more residential and commercial projects to life that help people ‘Live Well Outside.’”
South Carolina officials welcomed the news, highlighting the economic benefits and local job opportunities the project will bring.
“Oldcastle APG’s new operation in Lancaster County and the 30 new jobs it will create reinforce the company’s strong commitment to doing business in South Carolina,” said Governor Henry McMaster. “We are grateful for this investment and the new opportunities it will provide for our people.”
Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III echoed that sentiment: “This announcement and $20 million investment prove, once again, that South Carolina provides the foundation our existing industry needs to continually grow and thrive.”
Local leaders also praised the development. Lancaster County Council Chairman Brian Carnes stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Oldcastle APG. This significant multimillion-dollar investment is a testament to the strength of our community and the value we place on quality partnerships.”
