Chamber Music for All to Perform Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Christ in Lancaster on April 18

On Friday, April 18, 2025, at 6:30 PM, the Lancaster Cultural Arts Center in Lancaster, South Carolina, will host a special Easter performance of Joseph Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ. This event features the Chamber Music for All (CM4A) Quartet, comprising accomplished musicians from the Charlotte Symphony: violinists Calin Lupanu and Monica Boboc, violist Marcus Pyle, and cellist Jeremy Lamb.

Haydn’s Seven Last Words is a profound and contemplative work originally composed in 1787. Structured as a series of meditative movements, each reflects on one of Christ’s final utterances from the cross, offering listeners a deeply spiritual experience. The CM4A Quartet’s interpretation aims to honor the solemnity and emotional depth of the composition.

The Lancaster Cultural Arts Center, located at 307 W. Gay Street, provides an intimate setting that enhances the reflective nature of the performance. Tickets are priced at $20 and can be purchased through the Lancaster County Society for Historical Preservation’s website.

This concert is part of CM4A’s mission to make high-quality chamber music accessible to diverse audiences, fostering community engagement through the arts. Attendees can expect an evening of musical excellence that resonates with the themes of the Easter season.
