Mac’s Speed Shop to Open New Fort Mill Location

FORT MILL, SCMac’s Speed Shop, a popular barbecue restaurant, is getting ready to open a new location in Fort Mill. This will be the tenth restaurant for the chain, which has been serving customers for nearly 20 years. The new spot will be located at 1954 S.C. Highway 160.

Mac’s Speed Shop already has locations in Charlotte, Greenville, Matthews, Concord Mills, Lake Norman, Fayetteville, Greensboro, and Raleigh. The Fort Mill restaurant will feature Mac’s signature steel and burnt wood design, along with a bar that connects the indoor dining area to an outdoor patio. Large garage doors will also open into the outdoor bar area, creating a welcoming and open space.

Mac’s Hospitality, the company behind the restaurant, bought the property three years ago. However, delays with permits and town approvals slowed down the project. Now, plans are back on track, and excitement is building for the restaurant’s opening.

Mac’s Speed Shop is best known for its barbecue, including pulled pork and St. Louis-style ribs. The menu also offers Southern favorites like catfish, cornmeal shrimp, and chicken and waffles.

An official opening date for the Fort Mill location has not been announced, but residents can expect to enjoy Mac’s famous barbecue soon.
