YORK COUNTY, S.C. – Firefighters have successfully contained a wildfire that broke out Thursday afternoon near 453 Ridge Road in York County.
The blaze, which scorched approximately five acres, was fully contained shortly before 5pm thanks to the quick response of local firefighting crews. Officials confirmed that the fire no longer poses an immediate threat to nearby properties.
Despite containment, authorities will continue monitoring the area to prevent any potential flare-ups. Residents are urged to remain cautious as dry conditions can increase the risk of rekindling.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
