LAKE WYLIE – Anglers Chad Sims of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Britt Myers Jr. of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, delivered outstanding performances at the recent MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) tournament held on Lake Wylie.
Chad Sims emerged victorious, achieving a five-bass limit that weighed in at 18 pounds. This impressive feat earned him a total of $10,641, which included a $7,000 Phoenix MLF Contingency Bonus. Sims expressed that this BFL win held significant personal meaning, marking the culmination of his long-standing aspiration to win. His winning strategy involved a combination of shallow fishing techniques and the use of a jig. He also capitalized on a “local pattern” well-known among Wylie anglers to secure his two largest catches.
Britt Myers Jr. of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, secured the second-place position with a total weight of 17 pounds and 13 ounces. Myers’ efforts earned him a prize of $1,820.
